DR. DOMBO’S APPROACH
The Hukadzi Way
A whole woman approach to health, balance,
and long-term wellbeing
Women’s health is not one system, one
symptom, or one stage of life.
It is shaped by how different parts of the body and mind work together over time.
The Hukadzi Way brings these elements into focus through six essential pillars, each
representing a key area of health, all connected, and all contributing to how a
woman feels, functions, and lives.

JOY
Joy is not optional, it is
essential. A sense of identity,
fulfillment, and emotional
wellbeing plays a direct role in
overall health. This pillar focuses
on reconnecting with what brings
energy, meaning, and a sense of
self.

NUTRIFITNESS
How you fuel and move your
body shapes how it performs.
This pillar focuses on supporting
energy, strength, and metabolic
health through sustainable
nutrition and movement
practices that align with your life
and your body’s needs.

HORMONES
Your symptoms are signals, not something to ignore. This pillar focuses on understanding and managing hormonal changes, including perimenopause and menopause, through
evidence-based care that helps
you feel like yourself again.

HEALTHSPAN
Your health today shapes how
you feel in the years ahead.
This pillar focuses on long-term
wellbeing, including heart, bone, brain, and metabolic health, helping you take a proactive, informed approach to your future.

SLEEP
Sleep is the foundation
everything else is built on. When
sleep is disrupted, it affects
hormones, mood, energy, and
long-term health. This pillar
focuses on restoring sleep
quality and supporting the body’s
natural rhythms.

COMMUNITY
Connection is a core part of
health. Support, relationships, and
a sense of belonging influence
emotional wellbeing, stress levels,
and even physical health. This
pillar focuses on fostering
connection, whether through
relationships, community, or
meaningful support systems

The Origin of
The Hukadzi Way
Rooted in her Zimbabwean heritage, Dr. Kudzai
Dombo created The Hukadzi Way as a reflection of
women’s health, not as isolated symptoms, but as
a lived, evolving experience.
Inspired by the Shona concept of hukadzi and the
symbolism of the baobab fruit from her native
Zimbabwe, her approach recognizes that each
aspect of a woman’s health is distinct, yet deeply
interconnected. Like the seeds within the baobab
fruit, each pillar represents a vital part of the
whole. No single element defines health on its own,
but together, they create strength, balance, and
resilience.
Applying The Hukadzi Way to Your Care
The Hukadzi Way is not just a framework, it is how care is approached in practice.
Each woman’s experience is different. Your symptoms, history, and goals shape where we begin and
how your care evolves. Some women need support restoring sleep and hormonal balance. Others are
refining what is already working or focusing on long-term health. Care is designed to meet you where
you are, and adjust as your needs change.
If you are ready to take a more complete approach to your health, you can begin with a consultation.
